Traveling industry is one of the biggest industries in terms of both money and volume. Millions of people are involved in this industry – either as a service provider or as a client (traveler). This is why it remained one of the most lucrative sectors where the giant companies keep investing to earn huge. However, the surprising fact is that, if we look into the statistics deeply, we will find that only few giant brands get major part of the total money transacted in this industry, whereas the people who joined travel agent career are more than happy with the least income.
Here we need to think again. Yes, the homeworking agents aren’t actually competing those giant brands; they are grabbing only a very little part of the total business volume. The reason is nothing but a good percentage of these agents eventually forwards the lead to those blue chip brands and earns commission for that.
So, what is their benefit? They get two types of benefits. Firstly, they earn a direct commission against every lead they provide. Secondly, they earn a loyalty benefit for working long time in regular basis for those brands. Well, there is another indirect benefit to join these companies. It is nothing but staying away from those challenges that a new travel homeworking agent needs to face to start their business. Simply put, if you work great and get several customers, you can earn good amount of money. But, on the contrary, if your fate doesn’t support you, you have to bear the loss as well. This is why those agents prefers to work just as a petty agent and earn some drops of the total profit.
However, setting up your own business, promoting it and earning more than double isn’t that much challenging, especially when you have hundreds and thousands of potential customers. The only thing you need is a hardworking attitude and a good network to provide better service to the travelers. You still can take help of those brands; but not dedicatedly. Instead you can consult with some travel agent recruitment firm and create a strong network with those local service providers. It may give you a bit less profit primarily, but when it takes the pace, you can earn far more than staying safely under those big umbrellas.
Why we suggest the second option? It can give you the right opportunity to utilize your talent and skill and set sky literally as your limit. You directly get connected with the terminal yet small service providers in different parts of the world and grab the low-budget clients. It will help you all to enjoy a good business mutually without any leakage of the profit. On the other hand, while every next travel service provider is busy with the big clients, you can create a strong customer base silently with these low-budget clients. It may sound that you would get less profit and that’s true to some extent. But, we confirm it would give you more in the long run.
